Suanplu Chorus is honored to represent Thailand at the “1000 Voices for Peace”. With members and audience spanning all corners of Thailand regardless of religion, ethnic background, or walk of life, we understand the power of music and how it can bring people together. We are looking forward to raising our collective voices with other choirs from around the world for peace.
Suanplu Chorus is a mixed voice chorus based in Bangkok, Thailand. Formally established in 2000 by Dusdi Banomyong as an executive director, Suanplu Chorus has been a pioneer in combining the beauty of Thai music with Western choral tradition ever since. Over the years, the chorus has educated and entertained its ever growing Thai audience with choral music, a genre to which the Thai are not normally accustomed. Our repertoire ranges from classical, contemporary classical, traditional Thai songs, to original compositions. Suanplu chorus performs regularly for many government’s official functions, special charitable events, and in its annual concert. Suanplu Chorus has performed in various countries including Lao PDR, Vietnam, Myanmar, Germany, France, Austria, and the United States of America. In 2010, Suanplu Chorus was also invited to perform in the International Cultural Diversity Festival at the UNESCO Headquarter in Paris.
